This section will be kept updated with the most up-to-date resources related to creating, developing, and maintaining a WordPress website or blog.
The items mentioned under each section below have been thorougly analyzed and reviewed, and more often than not have been used on my websites as well my client’s sites.
Books and eBooks. There are many resources available on WordPress and associated products and serives.
These resources are sometimes come in hard-bounded printed books and sometimes in digital format, also called eBooks. eBooks are perhaps convenient in that they can be downloaded instantly and can be read on various devices including popular eReaders such as the Kindle.
WordPress Themes. WordPress themes are a collection of files that deliver HTML output, i.e. the web page that a visitor would see on a website or blog.
The theme files are loaded together with WordPress and these files make use various WordPress services to fulfill their own function.
A theme may consist of PHP files, CSS files, images files, and possibly even JavaScript files. WordPress themes are sometimes called templates as well.
WordPress Plugins. WordPress plugins are used to modify and extend the capabilities of WordPress.
With literally thousands of WordPress plugins available, it is important to thoroughly research plugins before deploying on a live, product website or blog. It is also important to keep the plugins updated as vendors do often upgrade their plugins.
